If you are a DIRECTV or use one of the DIRECTV streaming players for DIRECTV STREAM, you are about to get a new user interface. According to users who have tested this new interface, it is a big improvement that will also include a new home screen.

One of the big changes you will notice is a new home screen that will show your last channel, sports, weather, and local traffic all on your DIRECTV home screen.

No launch date for this new user interface has been announced, but DIRECTV has started to notify customers of the new home screen, according to a post on Reddit.

Cord Cutters News has reached out to DIRECTV for comment on this new interface, but no representative was available for comment at the time.

This comes as recently DIRECTV announced that it will be bring back The CW in 21 markets tomorrow. This comes as Sinclair reached a new deal with Nexstar for The CW. This comes as back in July 2023, DIRECTV and DIRECTV STREAM lost access to Sinclair-owned The CW affiliates after Nexstar blocked their access. Now, with the new contract, Sinclair has informed DIRECTV that they will be bringing their The CW affiliates back to DIRECTV, DIRECTV STREAM, and U-verse TV customers.

This deal will also include The CW affiliates managed by Sinclair but run by Cunningham Broadcasting Group, Deerfield Media-Manhan Meidia, and GoCom Media of Illinois, LLC.

This deal does not return any other Nexstar-owned locals, including ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC, that have now been dark for months on DIRECTV.
